South Hill Elementary was founded in 1980 by Dr. James Hill. Back in 1980 Dr. Hill was a wonderful and brilliant educator at a local University. There wasn't a local elementary school nearby to the University and he wanted to not only teach for the University but also teach at an elementary school whenever he go the chance, so he decided to teach at an elementary school about 20 miles away.

He loved teaching the children so much that he decided to open a school closer to where he worked and lived so that students wouldn't have to travel so far to go to school. Ever since 1980 the school has been expanding and growing and more students are enjoying the fun filled adventures in store for them when they come through the doors of South Hill Elementary everyday.
